Lully – La pastorale Comique
It’s a wrap!
Some pictures from the concert in Bergamo. Beautiful theatre, strange atmosphere and a big bell (“Il Campanone”) accompanying the Locatelli caprice. Too bad to play the program just once…

Giovanni Valentini (ca. 1582-1649)
One of the nicest things about putting together a program is that very often you stumble upon amazing music you didn’t know at all. We were looking into composers close to Locatelli and checking some Giuseppe Valentini’s stuff (who appeared to be his teacher) when our cembalist Jia got drawn towards the “wrong” Valentini: Giovanni.
As she said, “kinda wild”!
And on top of that, the Acronym Ensemble sounds great.

Occasional listeners love it, musicians often cannot stand it anymore: sure is that Vivaldi “Four Seasons” is a masterpiece.
We’ll try to rediscover it, in a very unusual version, with the friend and mandolin star Avi Avital in the Circle1 art gallery in Berlin.

Ostinato Ensemble gives its debut concert with a German program in Italy.
The program includes the visionary Lamento sopra la morte di Ferdinando III by Schmelzer, the sparkling Bach Violin concerto in E major (solo violin: Maia Cabeza) and the colorful Telemann Suite “La Bizarre”.
It will be then joined by the Corale Gazzotti conducted by Giulia Manicardi for Buxtehude’s Cantata “Das neugeborne Kindelein” and Bach’s Missa Brevis BWV 235 (oboe obbligato: Magdalena Karolak).
